4 EASY Japanese Sandwich Bento Box (Recipe)

1. Mini Sandwich Bento Box

Ingredients (for 1-2 servings)

・6 Bread rolls

Tuna sandwich
・1/2 Canned tuna
・1/2 tbsp Mayonnaise
・1/2 tsp Japanese mustard (Karashi)
・4-6 slices of Cucumber 

Mini hot dog
・2 Sausages
・Lettuce leaves
・Ketchup and mustard

Egg sandwich
・1 Egg
・1 tbsp Mayonnaise
・Salt and pepper
・Lettuce leaves

Direction

1. [Tuna sandwich] Drain the oil from the canned tuna, and mix it with mayonnaise and Japanese mustard.

2. Make a cut in the bread, and put cucumber slices. Put tuna as much as you want.

3. [Mini hot dog] Bake the sausage. Wash the lettuce and drained well with paper towel.

4. Make a cut in the bread, and put lettuce then sausage. Put ketchup and mustard.

5. [Egg sandwich] Make boiled egg. Crush the egg with a fork, and let it cool completely.

6. Put mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Make a cut in the bread, and put lettuce then egg.

Ready to eat!

2. Ham & Egg Sandwich

Ingredients (for 1 serving)

・2 White bread
・1 Egg
・2 slices of Ham
・1-2 slices of Cheese
・1/2 Avocado
・2.1 oz (60g) Tomato
・Lettuce leaves
・Salt and pepper
・1 tsp Butter
・1 tsp Mayonnaise

Direction

1. Prepare a small bowl. Stack the ends of the ham, and put one ham in the bowl. Crack the egg into the bowl. (Please check YouTube video to see the details.)

2. Use a fork to make a hole in the yolk so that it won’t explode in the microwave. Sprinkle salt and pepper.

3. Put the plastic wrap and microwave it at 500W for 1.5 minutes. Let it cool completely.

4. Apply butter on one bread and mayonnaise on the other.

5. Put lettuce, sliced tomato, avocado, cheese, and ham & egg.

6. Cover with another piece of bread. Cover the whole with plastic wrap and let it rest for a while.

7. Cut in the middle with plastic wrap.

Ready to eat!

3. Colorful Vegetable Sandwich

Ingredients (for 1 serving)

・2 White bread
・1.7 oz (50g) Carrot
・1.4 oz (40g) Cucumber
・2.1 oz (60g) Tomato
・1 oz (30g) Purple cabbage
・1 Egg
・1/2 tsp Sugar
・0.7 oz (20g) Bacon
・Lettuce leaves
・Salt and pepper
・1 tsp Butter
・2 tsp Mayonnaise

Direction

1. Shred carrot, cucumber, and purple cabbage. Sprinkle salt and pepper on carrot and cabbage, then mix well. Leave it for about 5 minutes.

2. Make thin omelette. (Add a little sugar into the beaten egg.) Bake the bacon.

3. Bake the bacon.

4. Apply butter on one bread and mayonnaise on the other.

5. Put carrot, cucumber, sliced tomato, purple cabbage, egg, bacon, and lettuce. Put extra mayonnaise between vegetables as you like.

6. Cover with another piece of bread. Cover the whole with plastic wrap and let it rest for a while.

7. Cut in the middle with plastic wrap.

Ready to eat!

4. Sandwich Rolls Bento Box

Ingredients (for 1 serving)

・5 White bread

Vegetable & Ham
・3-4 slices of Carrot
・3-4 slices of Cucumber
・1/2 slice of Ham
・1/2 tsp Mayonnaise

Bacon & Avocado
・1 slices of Bacon
・2 sliced of Avocado
・1/2 tsp Mayonnaise

Ham & Cheese
・1 slice of Ham
・1 slice of Cheese
・1/2 tsp Mayonnaise

Egg
・1/2  Egg
・1/2 tbsp Mayonnaise
・Salt and pepper
・Lettuce leaves (option)
・1/2 tsp Butter

Blueberry & Cream cheese
・1/2 tbsp Blueberry jam
・1 tbsp Cream cheese

Direction

1. [Vegetable & Ham] Shred the carrot and cucumber. Sprinkle salt and pepper on carrot, and mix well.

2. Apply mayonnaise on the bread, and put carrot, cucumber, and ham. Roll and wrap in the plastic wrap. Let it rest for a while.

3. [Bacon & Avocado] Bake the bacon, and slice the avocado.

4. Apply mayonnaise on the bread, and put bacon and avocado. Roll and wrap in the plastic wrap. Let it rest for a while.

5. [Ham & Cheese] Apply mayonnaise on the bread, and put ham and cut cheese. Roll and wrap in the plastic wrap. Let it rest for a while.

6. [Egg]Make boiled egg. Crush the egg with a fork, and let it cool completely.

7. Put mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Mix well. 

8. Apply butter on the bread, and put lettuce leaf and egg. Roll and wrap in the plastic wrap. Let it rest for a while.

9. [Blueberry & Cream cheese] Apply cream cheese on the bread, and put blueberry jam. Roll and wrap in the plastic wrap. Let it rest for a while.

10. Cut in the middle with plastic wrap.
