5 New Types of Gyoza Dumplings (Japanese-style Gyoza Easy Recipes)

Here, I would like to share 5 new types of gyoza which are extremely easy to make.

1. Bacon and Potato Gyoza

Ingredients (for 6 gyoza)

・12 Gyoza wrappers
・2.5 oz (70g) Potato
・1.4 oz (40g) Onion
・1-2 Slice of Bacon
・1/2 Stock cubes (chicken, vegetable, or any other kind)
・1/2 tsp Potato starch (or corn starch)
・2 tbsp Milk
・1/2 tbsp Water
・1 oz (30g) Shredded cheese
・A pinch of Salt and pepper

Direction

1. Mince the potato, onion, and bacon.

2. Put minced potato, onion, and bacon in a heat resistant bowl. Add potato starch and stock cubes.

3. Microwave for 4-5 minutes. Take out the bowl and mix well.

4. Add milk, water, and cheese. Microwave again for 3-4 minutes.

5. Take out and mix well. Let it cool a little. 

6. Put 1-2 tsp of the filling on the gyoza wrapper, and water the edges. Cover with another piece of wrapper.

7. Press the fork against the edge of the wrapper. Deep-fry the gyoza in oil.

Ready to eat!

2. Shiso Gyoza

Ingredients (for 6 gyoza)

・6 Gyoza wrappers
・5 Shiso leaves
・2.1 oz (60g) Ground pork
・2.1 oz (60g) Cabbage
・1 tsp Soy sauce
・1 tsp Sake
・1 tsp Sesame oil
・A pinch of Salt
・1/2 tsp Grated ginger

Dipping sauce
・1 tsp Soy sauce
・1 tsp Vinegar

Direction

1. Mince the cabbage, and shiso leaves.

2. Put ground pork in a clean bowl, and add salt, grated ginger, soy sauce, sake, and sesame oil.

3. Stir well with your hand till it gets sticky.

4. Add minced cabbage and shiso, and mix well.

5. Put 1-2 tsp of filling on the gyoza wrapper, and water the edges. Fold the edges of the wrapper into a round shape.

6. Bake the gyoza in a frying pan with a little oil. Cover and bake on low heat for 5 minutes. Then remove the lid and bake until browned.

Ready to eat!

3. Easy Stick Gyoza

Ingredients (for 6 gyoza)

・6 Gyoza wrappers
・Thinly sliced pork
・3-4 Green onions
・A pinch of Salt and pepper

Dipping sauce
・1 tsp Soy sauce
・1 tsp Vinegar

Direction

1. Prepare thinly sliced pork that is about as big as the gyoza wrapper. Cut green onion to the diameter of the gyoza wrapper.

2. Sprinkle salt and pepper on the pork.

3. Put the pork on the wrapper, and put green onion.

4. Wrap tightly. You don’t need to put water on the edge.

5. Bake the gyoza in a frying pan with a little oil. Cover and bake on low heat for 3 minutes. Then remove the lid and bake until browned.

Ready to eat!

4. Kimchi and Cheese Gyoza

Ingredients (for 6 gyoza)

・6 Gyoza wrappers
・2.1 oz (60g) Thinly sliced pork
・1.7 oz (50g) Kimchi
・1 oz (30g) Shredded cheese

Direction

1. Cut the pork into bite-sized.

2. Put the pork, kimchi, and cheese on the gyoza wrapper.

3. Water the edges, and fold in half.

4. Bake the gyoza in a frying pan with a little oil. Cover and bake on low heat for 5 minutes. Then remove the lid and bake until browned.

Ready to eat!

5. Curry and Cheese Gyoza

Ingredients (for 6 gyoza)

・6 Gyoza wrappers
・1.7 oz (50g) Curry
・1 oz (30g) Shredded cheese

Direction

1. Put a little curry and shredded cheese on the gyoza wrapper. (Make sure you put just a little bit of curry otherwise it will pop out while deep-frying.)

2. Water the edges, and collect the edges from 3 directions and stick them together.

3. Deep-fry the gyoza in oil.
