1. Yakisoba Bento
Ingredients (for 1 serving)
Yakisoba (Stir-fried noodles)
・5 oz (140g) Yakisoba noodles (with seasoning packet)
・0.7 oz (20g) Cabbage
・0.7 oz (20g) Onion
・0.7 oz (20g) Carrot
・1 oz (30g) Sausage
・1 tbsp Water
Yakisoba topping
・1 tsp Red pickled ginger
・A pinch of Aonori (Dried green seaweed)
Broccoli salad
・1 oz (30g) Broccoli
・1/2 tsp Olive oil
・A pinch of Salt and pepper
Ham and egg
・2 slices of Ham
・1 Egg
Direction
1. [Yakisoba] Cut cabbage into bite-sized, and slice onion, carrot, and sausage.
2. Stir-fry the vegetables and sausage.
3. Add noodles to the pan. Pour water on top, and loosen the noodles.
4. Add seasoning powder. Stir to combine. Put minced red pickled ginger and aonori as you like.
5. [Broccoli salad] Cut broccoli into bite-sized, and microwave at 500W for 40 seconds.
6. Mix it with salt, pepper, and olive oil.
7. [Ham and egg] Put 2 slices of ham in a small heat-resistant bowl stacking only one place on the edge of the ham.
8. Crack an egg into the bowl. Gently make 3-4 holes in the egg yolk using folk so that it prevents eggs from exploding when warmed.
9. Cover with another ham, and lightly cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
10. Microwave at 500W for 1.5 minutes. (If you like fully cooked egg, please heat for another 15 sec.) Cut in half.
11. Put all of ingredients in a lunch box.
Ready to eat!
2. Spicy Miso Pork & Rolled Omelette Bento
Ingredients (for 1 serving)
Spicy miso pork
・3 oz (85g) Pork
・1/2 tsp Grated garlic
・1/2 tsp Grated ginger
・2 tsp Sake
・1 tsp Soy sauce
・1.4 oz (40g) Onion
・0.7 oz (20g) Cabbage
・0.7 oz (20g) Red bell pepper
・0.7 oz (20g) Yellow bell pepper
・1 tsp Doubanjiang
・1 tsp Miso paste
・1 tsp Mirin
・1/2 tsp Sugar
Rolled omelette
・2 Eggs
・1/2 tsp Sugar
・A pinch of Salt
・Minced green onion
Edamame rice
・2.8 oz (80g) Cooked rice
・0.4 oz (10g) Edamame beans
・A pinch of Salt
Direction
1. [Spicy miso pork] Cut pork into bite-sized, and season it with grated garlic, ginger, sake, and soy sauce. Leave it for a while.
2. Cut vegetables into bite-sized.
3. Stir-fry the pork and take it out once from the pan.
4. Stir-fry the vegetables, and put the pork back in the pan.
5. Add doubanjiang, miso, mirin, and sugar to the pan. Stir to combine.
6. [Rolled omelette] Crack the eggs, add sugar and salt (optional), and beat well.
7. Make rolled omelette by pouring egg liquid little by little.
8. [Edamame rice] Prepare edamame beans. (I use frozen edamame.) Mix it with cooked rice, and sprinkle a pinch of salt.
9. Put all of ingredients in a lunch box.
Ready to eat!
3. Ground Meat Cutlet & Tofu Stir-fry Bento
Ingredients (for 1 serving)
Ground pork cutlet
・1.4 oz (40g) Ground pork
・1 oz (30g) Cabbage
・0.4 oz (10g) Onion
・A pinch of Salt
・1/2 Egg
・1 tsp Flour
・2 tbsp Panko (Bread crumbs)
・Oil for deep-frying
Tofu stir-fry
・2.5 oz (70g) Thick fried tofu (Firm tofu)
・1.7 oz (50g) Broccoli
・1 oz (30g) Bell pepper
・1 tsp Olive oil
・1/2 tsp Grated garlic
・1.5 tsp Miso paste
・1 tsp Mirin
・1 tsp Sake
Rice
・2.8 oz (80g) Cooked rice
・1/3 tsp Black sesame
・Salted plum
Direction
1. [Ground pork cutlet] Chop cabbage, and microwave at 500W for 1 minutes. Let it cool completely.
2. Put ground pork in a bowl. Sprinkle salt, and add 1 tbsp beaten egg. Stir till it gets sticky.
3. Pat cabbage dry on paper towel. Put it in a bowl, and stir to combine.
4. Shape it like hamburger patty.
5. Sprinkle a thin layer of flour on the meat. Dip it in beaten egg, and coat it with panko.
6. Deep-fry it in oil. Fry for 3 minutes on each side.
7. [Tofu stir-fry] Dice thick fried tofu. Cut broccoli into bite-sized and slice bell pepper.
8. Stir-fry broccoli first with oil, and add tofu and bell pepper later.
9. Make miso sauce by mixing miso paste, grated garlic, mirin, and sake. Then, pour it in the pan.
10. Stir to combine.
11. Put all of ingredients in a lunch box.
Ready to eat!
4. Fried Prawn Bento
Ingredients (for 1 serving)
Simmered hijiki
・1 tbsp Dried hijiki seaweed
・1 tbsp Edamame beans
・0.7 oz (20g) Carrot
・0.7 oz (20g) Chikuwa (Fish stick)
・1 tsp Sesame oil
・2 tsp Mirin
・1 tsp Sake
・1 tsp Soy sauce
・A pinch of Dashi powder
・A pinch of Salt
Carrot salad
・0.7 oz (20g) Carrot
・1 tbsp Raisin
・2 tsp Vinegar
・1 tsp Olive oil
・1/2 tsp Sugar
・A pinch of Salt and pepper
Rice
・2.8 oz (80g) Cooked rice
・1/3 tsp Black sesame
・Salted plum
2 Frozen fried prawn
1 Boiled egg
Some broccoli and cherry tomato
Direction
1. [Simmered hijiki] Soak dried hijiki seaweed in water, and leave it for 30 minutes.
2. Thinly slice carrot and chikuwa. After 30 minutes, drain the water, and wash hijiki.
3. Stir-fry hijiki with sesame oil for 2 minutes, and add carrot. Stir-fry for a while.
4. Add chikuwa. Season them with mirin, sake, soy sauce, dashi powder, and salt.
5. Simmer for a while, and add edamame beans.
6. [Carrot salad] Shred carrot, and put it in a bowl with raisins.
7. Add vinegar, olive oil, sugar, salt, and pepper.
8. Stir well.
9. [Others] Deep-fry prawn with bread crumbs in oil. Microwave broccoli, and make boiled egg.
10. Put all of ingredients in a lunch box.

5. Spam Rice Ball Bento
Ingredients (for 1 serving)
Spam rice ball (Spam musubi)
・4 oz (110g) Cooked rice
・3 slices of Spam
・1 Egg
・Nori seaweed
・1 tsp Mirin
・1 tsp Sake
・1/2 tsp Soy sauce
Carrot stir-fry
・0.7 oz (20g) Carrot
・1/2 tsp Sesame oil
・A pinch of Salt
・1/2 tsp White sesame seeds
Bell pepper stir-fry
・1.4 oz (40g) Green bell pepper
・1/2 tsp Salted kombu
・1/2 tsp Soy sauce
・1/2 tsp Mirin
Sausage
Cherry tomatoes
Chikuwa (fish stick) and Edamame beans
Direction
1. [Spam musubi] Make 3 small rice balls with cooked rice.
2. Bake thinly sliced spam in a pan, and season them with mirin, sake, and soy sauce.
3. Prepare beaten egg, and make thin omelette. Cut to fit the size of the rice ball.
4. Put egg and spam on top of rice balls. Wrap it in nori seaweed.
5. [Carrot stir-fry] Stir-fry shredded carrot with sesame oil. Sprinkle salt. Stir to combine, and sprinkle white sesame seeds.
6. [Bell pepper stir-fry] Stir-fry shredded bell pepper. Add salted kombu, mirin, and soy sauce. Stir to combine.
7. [Others] Bake sausage. Put edamame beans into the hole of chikuwa in order to make cute birds. (Please check the YouTube video above this page.)
