6 Japanese Mixed Rice Meal Preps aka Takikomi Gohan Bento Recipe Recipes

1. Shrimp Mixed Rice and Spicy Miso Chicken Stir-fry

Ingredients (for 1 serving)

Mixed rice (Takikomi-gohan)
・5.3 oz (150g) Raw rice (short grain rice)
・3.5 oz (100g) Shrimp
・1 tsp Sake (or White wine)☆
・1/2 tsp Soy sauce☆
・1/2 tsp Grated ginger☆
・2-3 tbsp Canned corn
・0.8 cup (200ml) Water★
・1/2 tbsp Sake (or White wine)★
・1/2 tbsp Soy sauce★
・1/2 tsp Consomme (Any other stock powder is fine)★

Spicy miso chicken stir-fry
・4.6 oz (130g) Chicken breast
・2.8 oz (80g) Bell peppers
・2 oz (60g) Onion
・2 tbsp Miso paste◇
・1 tbsp Mirin◇
・1/2 tbsp Soy sauce◇
・1/2 tbsp Sugar◇
・1/2 tsp Doubanjiang◇
・A pinch of Dashi powder◇
・1 tsp Oil

Direction

1.  [Mixed rice] Wash rice well and drain. Prepare the shrimp and toss them with ☆. Put drained rice and ☆ in a pot, mix lightly, and add shrimp (do not put the soaked liquid in the pot) and corn.

2.  Cover and bring to a boil over medium heat. When the water comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer until the water is completely absorbed, about 20 minutes. Turn off the heat and let stand for 10 minutes, then uncover and mix well.

3.  [Spicy miso chicken stir-fry] Cut chicken, bell peppers, and onion into bite-sized pieces. Mix ◇ in advance. Stir-fry onion and chicken with a little oil until soft. Add bell peppers and cook.

・4.2 oz (120g) Pork fillet
・1.5 tbsp Sake★
・1/2 tbsp Soy sauce★
・2/3 tsp Potato starch★
・A pinch of Salt and pepper★

・1.7 oz (50g) Broccoli
・1.7 oz (50g) Onion
・1 tsp Oil

・2 tbsp Water◇
・2 tsp Oyster sauce◇
・2 tsp Mirin◇
・1 tsp Sake◇
・1 tsp Sugar◇
・1 tsp Soy sauce◇
・1/2 tsp Shantan (Chicken stock powder)◇

・1/2 tsp Potato starch
・1 tsp Water

Direction

・1 tbsp Grain mustard★
・1 tbsp Honey★
・2 tsp Soy sauce★
・2 tsp Sake★
・1/2 tsp Consomme (Any other stock powder is fine)★
・1 tsp Oil

・1 tsp Sake
・A pinch of Salt and pepper
・2.8 oz (80g) Broccoli
・1 tsp Curry powder◇
・1/2 tsp Soy sauce◇
・1/2 tsp Sugar◇
・1/2 tsp Mirin◇
・1 tsp Oil

Direction

Tori-meshi (Traditional chicken mixed rice)
・5.3 oz (150g) Raw rice (short grain rice)
・3.5 oz (100g) Chicken thigh (without skin)
・1 tsp Sake☆
・1 tsp Soy sauce☆
・1.7 oz (50g) Gobo (Burdock)
・0.8 cup (200ml) Water★
・1 tbsp Soy sauce★
・1 tsp Sake (or White wine)★
・1 tsp Sugar★

Subuta (Sweet and sour pork)
・4.2 oz (120g) Pork fillet
・A pinch of Salt and pepper
・1/2 tbsp Potato starch

・3.5 oz (100g) Lotus root
・2 oz (60g) Carrot
・2 oz (60g) Onion
・1.7 oz (50g) Bell pepper

・3 tbsp Ketchup◇
・2 tbsp Rice vinegar◇
・1.5 tbsp Sugar◇
・1 tsp Soy sauce◇
・1/2 tsp Potato starch◇
・1 tsp Oil

Direction

1.  [Mixed rice] Wash rice well and drain. Cut chicken into very small pieces and toss them with ☆. Cut gobo into very thin slices using a peeler and soak them in water. Put drained rice and ★ in a pot, mix lightly, and add chicken (do not put the soaked liquid in the pot) and gobo.

2.  Turn off the heat and let stand for 10 minutes, then uncover and mix well.

3.  [Subuta] Cut pork into small pieces. Sprinkle pork with salt and pepper and a very small amount of potato starch. Cook the pork in a frying pan first, and take out once. Then cook cut vegetables until soft. (Add bell pepper in last few minutes.)

・1 Boiled egg
・A pinch of Salt and pepper◇
・Ramen pepper (White+black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder)◇
・1 tsp Mayonnaise◇
・1/2 tsp Sugar◇
・1/2 tsp Soy sauce◇

Direction
