6 Way to Make High-Protein Japanese Stamina Bowls, a.k.a. STAMINA DON!
1. Ultimate Yakitori Bowl
Ingredients (1 serving)
・5.3 oz (150g) Chicken
・1.4 oz (40g) Leek
・3.5 oz (100g) Thinly sliced pork
・6 Cherry tomatoes
・Shishito peppers
・1 tsp Oil
Yakitori sauce
・4 tbsp Soy sauce☆
・4 tbsp Mirin☆
・2 tbsp Sugar☆
・Rice
・Shredded cabbage
Directions
- Cut chicken and leek into bite-sized pieces and alternate on skewers. (Can be made with chicken only.) Wrap pork around a small tomato and then skewer it.
- Oil a frying pan, arrange skewers on the pan, and grill.
- Cook on one side over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until browned, then turn over and steam for 2 minutes with the lid on.
- Take out the yakitori, add ☆ to the pan and bring to a light boil.
- Return the yakitori and toss it with the meat while cooking down the sauce.
- Cook for about 2 minutes to allow the sauce to soak into the meat. Place rice in a bowl and pour the sauce over the rice, then arrange the yakitori. Pour the sauce over the yakitori to complete the dish.
2. Authentic Japanese Stamina Bowl
Ingredients (1 serving)
・5.3 oz (150g) Thinly sliced pork
・1.4 oz (40g) Onion
・A little Green onion
・1 tsp Oil
・A pinch of Salt and pepper
・1/2 tbsp Miso paste☆
・1/2 tbsp Soy sauce☆
・1/2 tbsp Sugar☆

・1/2 tsp Shantung (or Chicken stock powder)☆

- Cut onion into wedges. Cut pork into bite-sized pieces. Mix ☆ in a bowl.
- Oil a frying pan, and stir-fry onions until softened to a certain degree. Add pork, fry lightly, and add the sauce mixture.
- Stir-fry until all the sauce is mixed in and the liquid is almost completely absorbed. Add green onions to taste along the way and lightly heat through.
- Serve rice in a bowl, top with meat, and top with an onsen egg (or fried egg), and you’re done!
3. Garlic Chicken and Sausage Power Bowl
Ingredients (1 serving)
・3.5 oz (100g) Chicken
・1 clove of Garlic
・A pinch of Salt and pepper☆
・1 tsp Soy sauce☆
・1 tsp Mirin☆
・1 tsp Oil
・3.5 oz (100g) Sausage
・1 tsp Ketchup★
・1/2 tsp Oyster sauce★
・1/2 tsp Soy sauce★
・Rice
・Shredded cabbage
・Egg yolk or Fried egg
Directions
- Put oil and garlic in a frying pan and warm over low heat until the garlic has a nice aroma.
- Stir-fry the chicken and season with ☆. Stir-fry until seasonings are reduced to a certain degree. Combine with cooked rice
- Cut sausage into small pieces, fry lightly, and season with ★.
- Serve rice in a bowl, arrange the sausage on top of it, and top with an egg at the end.
4. Protein-Packed Oyakodon Remix
Ingredients (1 serving)
・5.3 oz (150g) Chicken
・A pinch of Salt and pepper
・1/2 tsp Oil
・1 tbsp Flour
・2-3 tbsp Panko
・1-2 tbsp Oil
Sauce
・1 tbsp Soy sauce☆
・1 tbsp Mirin☆
・1/2 tbsp Sugar☆
・1/2 tbsp Tonkatsu sauce☆
・A pinch of Dashi powder☆
・1 Egg
・1/2 tsp Oil
・Rice
・Shredded cabbage
・Minced green onion
Directions
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Sprinkle salt and pepper on them. Make batter by mixing flour and water. Spread batter only on one side of chicken. Sprinkle panko over it, coating only one side of the chicken.
- Put a little more oil in a frying pan and fry the chicken. Fry panko side down for 3 minutes, turning over when golden brown. Fry the other side for 3 minutes and it’s done.
- Mix ☆ to make sauce. (Warm it a little to mix the seasonings well.) Dip the chicken cutlet into the sauce and then place on top of the rice. (You can cut down on calories by placing shredded cabbage on or under the rice.)
- Pour the remaining sauce over the cutlets. Finally, make scrambled eggs and put them on top of the chicken cutlet.
5. Addictive Seasoned Egg and Onion Mustard Sauce Steak
Ingredients (1 serving)
Devil’s Egg
・ 2 Boiled eggs
・0.8 cup (200ml) Water☆
・2 tbsp Soy sauce☆
・1 tbsp Mirin☆
・1/2 tbsp Beet sugar syrup (or Sugar or Honey)☆
・1 tsp Sesame oil☆
・A pinch of Dashi powder☆
Onion Mustard Sauce Steak
・5.3 oz (150g) Pork
・A pinch of Salt and pepper
・3-4 tbsp Grated onion★
・1.5 tbsp Soy sauce★
・1 tbsp Mirin★
・1 tbsp Grain mustard★
・1/2 tbsp Sugar★
・1 tsp Beet sugar syrup (or Sugar or Honey)★
・Black pepper
・Rice
・Shredded cabbage

- Mix ☆ in a deep heatproof container. Heat in a microwave oven and mix seasonings well.
- Boil the eggs to the desired consistency, peel the shells, and place them in the container. Place in the refrigerator for half a day to a day to finish.
- Cut pork into bite-size pieces (steak-like) and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Mix ★ in a bowl.
- Put oil in a frying pan and brown the pork. When browned on one side, add sauce. Turn pork over and cook for 3 minutes. When the sauce has simmered down and the pork is cooked, it is done.
- Serve rice in a bowl and top with the marinated egg and steak.
6. Ebi Mayo Chicken Stamina Bowl
Ingredients (1 serving)
・3.5 oz (100g) Shrimp
・3.5 oz (100g) Chicken
・3.5 oz (100g) Lotus root
・A pinch of Salt and pepper
・3 tbsp Potato starch
・2 tbsp Oil
・2-3 tbsp Mayonnaise☆
・2 tsp Grain mustard☆
・2 tsp Ketchup☆
・1 tsp Sugar☆
・1 tsp Soy sauce☆
・1/2 tsp Grated garlic☆
Broccoli salad
・3.5 oz (100g) Broccoli
・1tsp Grain mustard★
・1 tsp Soy sauce★
・1/2 tsp Beet sugar syrup (or Sugar or Honey)★

Directions
- Cut chicken, lotus root, and broccoli into small pieces. Soak the lotus root in water after cutting. Mix ☆ in a bowl.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper on chicken and shrimp. Sprinkle a light dusting of potato starch over everything.
- Fry chicken, shrimp and lotus root in more oil. Put the fried ingredients into the bowl of ☆ and mix well.
