1. Fried Mackerel Marinated in Spicy Vinegar Sauce Recipe
Ingredients (for 1-2 servings)
・6.7 oz (190g) Canned mackerel (This recipe uses the one in water and salt.)
・2-3 tbsp Potato starch or Corn starch
・Oil for deep-frying
・2 oz (60g) Onion
・1 oz (30g) Carrot
・1 oz (30g) Green bell pepper
・Chili pepper
・1 tsp Oil
Sauce★
・3 tbsp Rice vinegar
・3 tbsp Sugar
・2 tbsp Soy sauce
・2 tbsp Mirin
Direction
1. Slice onion. Shred carrot and bell pepper. Chop chili pepper.
2. Oil pan, stir-fry onion and carrot. When they get soft, add bell pepper and chili pepper. Stir-fry for a while, and turn off heat.
3. Add [★]. Bring to a slight boil, then turn off heat.
4. Drain canned mackerel and break mackerel into bite-sized pieces by hand.
5. Drain mackerel. Coat mackerel with potato starch.
6. Deep-fry mackerel until slightly browned on surface.
7. Put fried mackerel in container or plate. Pour sauce [3] on top. Let sit for 30 minutes to soak up the flavors before eating.

2. Mackerel Croquette Recipe
Ingredients (for 2 servings)
・6.7 oz (190g) Canned mackerel (This recipe uses the one in water and salt.)
・7 oz (200g) Potato
・1.4 oz (40g) Onion
・1 tsp Olive oil
Seasonings★
・2 tsp Sugar
・1 tsp Curry powder
・1 tsp Sake
・1 tsp Soy sauce
・1 tsp Butter
・1/2 tsp Miso paste
・Salt and pepper
・5 Shiso leaves
・1 tbsp Flour
・1 Egg
・4-5 tbsp Panko (Bread crumbs)
・Oil for deep-frying
Direction
1. Cut potato into small pieces, and microwave it at 500W for 6-7 minutes until soft.
2. Mash potato.
3. Mince onion, and shred shiso leaves. Stir-fry onion with oil in pan. When it gets soft, add drained mackerel.
4. Add [★] into pan, and stir in mackerel while breaking up meat.
5. Mix mashed potato with [4] and shredded shiso.
6. Shape into round shape for easy eating.
7. Coat potato balls with flour, beaten egg, and panko.
8. Deep-fry until golden brown.

3. Fluffy Mackerel Balls Recipe
Ingredients (for 1-2 servings)
・6.7 oz (190g) Canned mackerel (This recipe uses the one in water and salt.)
・2 oz (60g) Tofu
・1-2 tbsp Corn
・2 tbsp Potato starch or Corn starch
・1 tsp Mayonnaise
・1 tsp Grated ginger
・1/2 tsp Grated garlic
・Salt and pepper
Sauce★
・2 tsp Soy sauce
・2 tsp Sugar
・1 tsp Sake
・1 tsp Mirin
・1 tsp Ketchup
・A pinch of Garlic powder
Direction
1. Wrap tofu in paper towel and place weight on top. Let sit for 10 minutes and drain off tofu.
2. Put drained mackerel in bowl, and remove excess water with paper towel. Put drained tofu, corn, potato starch, mayonnaise, grated ginger, grated garlic, salt and pepper. Knead well.
3. Form into small balls.
4. Pan fry until slightly browned.
5. Mix [★] in bowl, and pour in pan. Toss mackerel balls with sauce.

Ingredients (for 2 servings)
・5.3 oz (150g) Spaghetti
・1 tbsp Salt
・Water
・2 oz (60g) Onion
・1 clove of Garlic
・1 tsp Olive oil
・1/2 tsp Soy sauce
・1/2 tsp Sugar
・6.7 oz (190g) Canned mackerel (This recipe uses the one in water and salt.)
・1 tbsp Miso paste
・1 tbsp Sugar
・1 tsp Soy sauce
・1 tsp Stock powder (Consomme)
・Black pepper
・1 tbsp Butter
Topping
・Minced green onion
Direction
1. Boil spaghetti with salt and plenty of water.
2. Mince garlic and slice onion. Stir-fry onion with oil and garlic in pan.
3. Put mackerel and water in can into pot. Add miso paste, sugar, soy sauce, stock powder, and black pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes and turn off heat.
4. Mix [2] with [3].
5. Mix spaghetti with [4]. Add butter, and stir well.
