How to Make Sushi Rice
Ingredients (for 1-2 servings)
・11.6 oz (330g) Cooked rice
・25ml Rice vinegar
・11g Sugar
・3g (1/2 tsp) Salt
Direction
1. Remove about 2 tablespoons of water from the water needed to cook normal rice
2. Cook rice normally.
3. In a mixing bowl, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Warm it in microwave for 40-50 seconds at 500W. Stir well.
4. Mix cooked rice with the sushi vinegar. Stir to combine, and let it cool.
1. Smoked Salmon & Avocado Sushi Roll
Ingredients (for 1-2 servings)
・Sushi rice
・Smoked salmon
・Half Avocado
・1 Cucumber stick
・Lettuce
・Imitation crab meat
・Nori seaweed
Direction
1. Spread a thin layer of rice on a sheet of nori. Place a piece of plastic wrap under the nori to make it easier to roll later.
2. Turn over the nori. Place lettuce, avocado, cucumber, and imitation crab meat. Roll up the nori from the front.
3. When the sushi roll is formed, place thinly sliced avocado and smoked salmon alternately on top of the sushi roll.
4. Wrap again with plastic wrap and leave for a while. Cut into bite-sized pieces and you’re done.
2. Easiest Japanese Sushi Roll
Ingredients (for 1-2 servings)
・Sushi rice
・2 Eggs
・1/2 tsp Sugar (or A pinch of Salt)
・1 Cucumber stick
・Imitation crab meat
・Nori seaweed
Direction
1. Make an rolled omelet that fits the length of the nori. When cooled, cut into long, thin strips as needed.
2. Spread a thin layer of rice on a sheet of nori. Place a piece of plastic wrap under the nori to make it easier to roll later.
3. Place cucumber, imitation crab meat, and rolled omelet on the rice. Roll up the nori from the front.
4. Wrap with plastic wrap and leave for a while. Cut into bite-sized pieces and you’re done.
3. Egg & Salmon Refreshing Sushi Roll
Ingredients (for 1-2 servings)
・Sushi rice
・1 Cucumber
・1 Egg
・1/3 tsp Sugar (or A pinch of Salt)
・2.8 oz (80g) Salmon
・Shiso leaves
・Nori seaweed
Direction
1. Cut cucumbers into thin slices with a peeler.
2. Fry salmon in a pan and make salmon flakes. Make thinly fried eggs and cut into strips. Shred shiso leaves. Mix sushi rice with salmon flakes, egg, and shiso.
3. Weave thinly sliced cucumbers into a lattice pattern. Put nori on top of it. Place mixed sushi rice. Roll up the nori from the front.
4. Wrap with plastic wrap and leave for a while. Cut into bite-sized pieces and you’re done.
4. Sushi Rolled in Egg
Ingredients (for 1-2 servings)
・Sushi rice
・2 Eggs
・1/2 tsp Sugar (or A pinch of Salt)
・Komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach)
・Fluffy flaked fish (Sakura denbu)
・Gobo pickles
・Nori seaweed
Direction
1. Boil komatsuna with a pinch of Salt. Pat it dry with paper towel throuhgly.
2. Make one big sheet of thin omelet. Cut it into the same size as nori.
3. Place eggs, nori, and sushi rice on a piece of plastic wrap in this order. Place komatsuna, fluffy flaked fish, and gobo pickles on the rice. Roll up the nori from the front.
4. Wrap with plastic wrap and leave for a while. Cut into bite-sized pieces and you’re done.
5. Tuna Salad Sushi Roll
Ingredients (for 1-2 servings)
・Sushi rice
・2 oz (60g) Canned tuna
・1 tbsp Mayonnaise
・1/2 tsp Wasabi paste
・1/2 tsp Soy sauce
・1 Cucumber stick
・Ham slices
・Lettuce
・White sesame seeds
・Nori seaweed
Direction
1. Drain oil from canned tuna. Mix it with mayonnaise, wasabi, and soy sauce.
2. Spread a thin layer of rice on a sheet of nori. Sprinkle white sesame seeds all over the rice. Place a piece of plastic wrap under the nori to make it easier to roll later.
3. Turn over the nori. Place lettuce, cucumber, ham, and tuna. Roll up the nori from the front.
4. Wrap with plastic wrap and leave for a while. Cut into bite-sized pieces and you’re done.
6. Fried Prawn Sushi Roll
Ingredients (for 1-2 servings)
・Sushi rice
・2 Prawn
・1 tbsp Flour
Batter
・2 tbsp Flour
・1 tbsp Beaten egg
・2 tsp Water
・Panko
・Oil for frying
・Lettuce
・Tonkatsu sauce
・Tiny rice crackers
・Nori seaweed
Direction
1. Devein prawn. Cut a slit in the belly of the prawn and straighten it. Coat it with flour.
2. Make batter with flour, beaten egg, and water. Dip the prawn in batter, and coat it with panko. Fry in oil for 2-3 minutes on each side.
3. Spread a thin layer of rice on a sheet of nori. Sprinkle tiny rice crackers all over the rice. Place a piece of plastic wrap under the nori to make it easier to roll later.
4. Turn over the nori. Place lettuce and fried prawn. Pour a little tonkatsu sauce as you like. Roll up the nori from the front.
5. Wrap with plastic wrap and leave for a while. Cut into bite-sized pieces and you’re done.
