This Addictive Air Fryer Japanese Apple Cake is My New Obsession!

Last modified date

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my channel.
Today, I’m sharing a recipe for a “Healthy Apple Cake” made using an Air Fryer. It’s moist, fluffy, and incredibly easy to make.

I use “Taihaku Sesame Oil” (white sesame oil) for this recipe, which is healthy and has no strong scent, but you can use any neutral oil you like. The combination of three textures of apple—grated, diced, and sliced—makes this cake absolutely delicious!

Here is the recipe to help you follow along with the video.

Ingredients

Yields: 1 serving (Makes 2 small cups / 8cm diameter)

  • 1/3 Egg

  • 25g (0.9 oz) Granulated sugar

  • 20g (0.7 oz) Oil (Taihaku sesame oil is best, but vegetable or canola oil works too)

  • 1 tsp Milk

  • 40g (1.4 oz) All-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder

  • 3 dashes Cinnamon powder

  • 30g (1.1 oz) Apple, grated

  • 40g (1.4 oz) Apple, very finely diced

  • 30g (1.1 oz) Apple, sliced (for topping)

  • 3 drops Vanilla extract (Optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk the egg and granulated sugar together well. Add the oil and milk, mixing thoroughly until combined.

  2. Add the grated apple to the mixture and mix well.

  3. Sift the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon powder into the bowl. If you are using vanilla extract, add it now.

  4. Add the finely diced apples and mix until just combined.

  5. Pour the batter into heat-resistant cups. Top with the sliced apples. Cover the cups with aluminum foil to prevent burning, then bake in the air fryer at 180°C (356°F) for 30 minutes.

Note

I use a Cosori mini air fryer. Cooking times may vary depending on the brand and size of your air fryer. Please keep an eye on the cake and adjust the cooking time as needed!
