EASY JAPANESE BREAKFAST #10 And Hamburger Steak Sandwich Bento Box for Lunch

1. Onigiri & Fried Brussels Sprouts Breakfast

Ingredients (for 2 servings)

Maitake onigiri (rice ball)
・11.6 oz (330g) Cooked rice
・3.5 oz (100g) Maitake mushroom
・1.4 oz (40g) Carrot
・1 sheet Thin fried tofu
・3 tbsp Minced green onion
・1 tsp Sesame oil
・2 tbsp Sake☆
・1.5 tbsp Soy sauce☆
・1 tbsp Mirin☆
・1/2 tbsp Sugar☆
・A pinch of Dashi powder☆

Spicy cod roe (mentaiko) onigiri
・Spicy cod roe
・Nori seaweed

Pickled plum (umeboshi) onigiri
・Pickled plum (umeboshi)
・Nori seaweed

Fried Brussels sprouts
・4 Brussels sprouts
・3.5 oz (100g) Thinly sliced pork belly
・A pinch of Salt and pepper
・A pinch of Flour

・2 tbsp Flour
・2 tbsp Beaten egg
・2 tsp Water
・Oil for frying

Chinese cabbage & wakame miso soup
・3.5 oz (100g) Chinese cabbage
・1.7 oz (50g) Green onion
・1-2 tbsp Dried wakame seaweed
・1.7 cups (400ml) Water
・2 tbsp Miso paste
・1 tsp Dashi powder

Rolled omelet
・2 Eggs
・1/2 tsp Sugar
・1/2 tsp Oil



1.  [Maitake onigiri]Thinly slice the carrot and thin fried tofu. Stir fry carrot with oil. Then, add maitake mushroom and fried tofu. Add ☆ and stir-fry until all the sauce is gone.

Cook rice normal, and mix it with maitake stir-fry. Make rice ball as you like.

2.  [Fried Brussels sprouts]Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper on both side of pork. Then, sprinkle a little flour on one side of pork. Wrap the floured side around the Brussels sprouts.

Make batter with flour, beaten egg, and water. Dip the Brussels sprouts on the batter, then cover it with panko. Fry in oil until golden brown.

3.  [Chinese cabbage & wakame miso soup]Cut Chinese cabbage and green onion into bite size pieces. Cook them with water in a pot. When it boils, add dried wakame seaweed. Simmer until vegetables are soft.

Add dashi powder and dissolve miso paste.

2. Japanese Hamburger Steak Sandwich Bento

Ingredients (for 2 servings)

Hamburger steak sandwich
・Your favorite bread
・5.3 oz (150g) Ground pork + beef
・1.7 oz (50g) Onion
・1.5 tsp Oil
・3 tbsp Panko☆
・1-2 tbsp Beaten egg☆
・1 tbsp Milk☆
・1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce☆
・A pinch of Salt☆

・1 tbsp Ketchup★
・1 tbsp Sake★
・1/2 tbsp Tonkatsu sauce★
・1/2 tbsp Soy sauce★
・1/2 tbsp Sugar★
・1 tsp Butter★

Sandwich topping
・Shredded cabbage
・Boiled egg

Naporitan (Ketchup-based spaghetti)
・3.5 oz (100g) Spaghetti
・2 tsp Salt

・2 oz (60g) Sausage
・1.4 oz (40g) Carrot
・1.4 oz (40g) Green bell pepper
・1/2 tsp Oil

・3 tbsp Ketchup◇
・1/2 tbsp Sake◇
・1/2 tbsp Sugar◇
・1/2 tsp Butter◇
・1/2 tsp Soy sauce◇
・1/2 tsp Consomme (Stock powder)◇

Corn dog
・2.5 oz (70g) Fish sausage (Sausage)

・1.7 oz (50g) Pancake mix◆
・2.5 tbsp Beaten egg◆
・1.5 tbsp Milk◆
・1/2 tbsp Mayonnaise◆

・Oil for frying


1.  [Hamburger steak sandwich]Mince onion, and mix it with oil. Cook it in microwave for 2 minutes at 500W. Cool it completely.

Mix ground meat with cooled onion and ☆. Knead well until it becomes sticky. Form into hamburger patties.

Fry in a pan until one side is brown. Turn them over, put a lid on, and cook on low heat for 3 minutes. Mix ★ in a bowl, and pour it to the pan. Simmer for another 3 minutes.

When hamburger steak is ready, spread mayonnaise on a piece of bread, top with cabbage, hamburger steak, and boiled egg, and sandwich with another piece of bread.

2.  [Naporitan]Boil spaghetti with salt. Shred vegetables and sausage. Stir-fry onion with oil. The, add sausage and green bell pepper. Add ◇ and simmer until the sauce is thick.

Mix the spaghetti with the ketchup sauce.

3.  [Corn dog]Cut fish sausage into small pieces. Mix ◆ in a bowl. Dip sausage in batter and fry in oil.
