EASY JAPANESE TERIYAKI CHICKEN

You might already be aware of that soy sauce and honey are really important for teriyaki chicken recipe.

As well as those seasonings, miso paste also does great job and I use it as a secret ingredient in my teriyaki chicken.

By using miso paste for the sauce, it can give us different kind of saltiness and rich flavor at the same time.

It’s easy to cook because all you need is just putting all seasonings into a pan and simmering. You don’t need neither long cooking time nor troublesome preparation.

【Recipe (2 servings)】

Ingredients
15 oz bone-in chicken
3.5 oz daikon, Cut into bite-sized
2 boiled eggs
0.3 oz ginger, Shredded
2 tablespoons sake (or white wine)
1.5 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon sweet sake (mirin)
2 teaspoons miso paste (fermented soybean paste)
1 teaspoon gochujang (Korean red chili paste)… If you don’t have one, it’s totally fine.
1 teaspoon honey

Directions

1. Broil chicken with oil in a pan until slightly burned.

2. Cook daikon in a microwave oven in advance. Add cooked daikon, ginger, and all of seasonings into a pan. Then stir well.

3. Cover and heat for 20 min on low.

4. Add boiled eggs into a pan, and simmer again for 5-10 min so that boiled eggs absorb the sauce well.
(If you like soft boiled eggs, you can just make soft boiled eggs and put them into a pan after tuning off the heat).
