I am planning to work in Japan next year, and now I’m studying business Japanese by myself. What is the best way to apologize politely in Japanese?

The phrase could differ depending on the situation, but the standard ways of saying sorry in a business setting are these.

      1. Shitsurei-itashimashita. 失礼いたしました(しつれい いたしました)。
      2. Gomeiwaku-wo-okakeitashimasita. ご迷惑をおかけいたしました(ごめいわく を おかけいたしました)。
      3. Moushiwake-gozaimasen-deshita. 申し訳ございませんでした(もうしわけ ございません でした)。

Also, you can add “Tihen 大変(たいへん)” in front of all of these three phases so that they become even more polite.

Tihen 大変(たいへん) means “very” and “really”.
