      ・〜を途中でやめそうになった
      ・〜を途中であきらめそうになった

      途中で→ part way through
      〜をやめる or あきらめる→ to give up〜ing
      [Verb]そうになった→ almost [Verb]

      Example sentence:
I almost gave up studying Japanese part way through, but I kept at it for one year.
      日本語の勉強を途中でやめそうになったが、頑張って1年続けた。
Nihongo no benkyo wo tochu de yamesouni nattaga, ganbatte ichinen tsuduketa.
