SAUSAGE miso soup recipe

I went on a trip with my family (my parents, my siblings, and my husband) to Atami, Shizuoka prefecture last weekend.

Atami is famous for Onsen (Hot spring), and we went there for celebrating my dad’s sixtieth birthday.

We had so much fun relaxing in the hot spring, eating great course dinner, and singing at karaoke.

Spending time with my parents is now more valuable than before, since I get married.

So I was so happy and thankful to have such a wonderful time last weekend.

I make miso soup for me and my husband today too. I hope to make the one for my parents soon.

Well, I introduce unique miso soup today, “SAUSAGE miso soup”.

Sausage makes good stock, and it goes perfect with miso and vegetable.

【Recipe (2 servings)】

Ingredients
1 oz miso paste (fermented soybean paste)*1
1 teaspoon dashi granules*2
2 oz onion, Shredded
2.5 oz potato, Cut into bite-sized
2 oz sausage, Cut into bite-sized
1.7 cups (400ml) water

*1Feel free to adjust the amounts of miso paste to your liking.
*2If miso paste already contains dashi, don’t need dashi granules. I use miso paste containig dashi this time.

Directions

1. Heat water, onion, and potato in a saucepan. After boiling add sausage and dashi granules.

2. After onion, and potato cooked through, remove from heat.

3. Add miso paste and stir until miso is completely melted.

Ready to eat! (Shake black pepper as you like.)

Cooking “SAUSAGE miso soup” was kind of new things to me, but the taste is fantastic and definitely I will make it again! (I am thinking this soup and bread make a very good match too.)

Actually black pepper gives accent to the soup.

Enjoy your miso soup!
