Toruko Rice (Turkish Rice) Recipe

Ingredients (for 2 serving)

Ketchup-flavored rice
・11.6 oz (330g) Cooked rice
・2 oz (60g) Sausage or Bacon
・1.7 oz (50g) Onion
・1 oz 30g) Carrot
・1 oz (30g) Bell pepper
・2-3 tbsp Corn
・1 tsp Oil

・3 tbsp Ketchup
・1/2 tbsp Sake or White wine
・1/2 tbsp Sugar
・1 tsp Soy sauce
・1 tsp Consomme or Other stock powder

・1 tbsp Butter

Ketchup-flavored spaghetti
・2.5 oz (70g) Spaghetti
・Water for boiling
・Salt for boiling

・2-3 tbsp Ketchup
・2 tsp Butter
・1 tsp Sugar
・1/2 tsp Mayonnaise (optional)
・1/2 tsp Consomme or Other stock powder

Tonkatsu (Pork cutlet)
・7 oz (200g) Pork loin
・Salt and pepper
・1-2 tbsp Flour
・1 Egg
・3-4 tbsp Panko (Bread crumbs)
・Oil for frying

Demi-glace sauce
・7 oz (200g) Onion
・0.7 oz (20g) Butter
・4 tbsp Flour

・1.25 cups (300ml) Water
・3 tbsp Ketchup
・3 tbsp Tonkatsu sauce
・2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
・2 tbsp Sugar
・1 tbsp Soy sauce
・1 tsp Chicken stock powder or Other stock powder
・1 tsp Consomme or Other stock powder

・2 tbsp Red wine

Topping
・Thinly sliced egg

Direction

1. [Ketchup-flavored rice] Cook rice with less water than usual to make it firmer.

2. Mince onion, carrot, bell pepper, and sausage. Stir-fry in pan. Add ketchup, sake, sugar, soy sauce, and consomme. Fry until water is gone, and add corn.

3. When rice is cooked, mix it with butter. Then, add [2]. Stir to combine.

4. [Ketchup-flavored spaghetti] Cook spaghetti as indicated. Drain hot water, and add ketchup, butter, mayonnaise, sugar, and consomme. Stir to combine.

5. [Tonkatsu] Make cut in pork, and sprinkle salt and pepper. Coat it with flour, beaten egg, and panko. Fry in oil for 3-4 minutes on each side.

6. [Demi-glace sauce] Fry flour in frying pan until dark golden brown.

7. Grate onion. Put it in pan with butter, and saute over low heat until golden brown.

8. Mix water, ketchup, tonkatsu sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, soy sauce, stock powder, and consomme in bowl.

9. Mix [6] with [7] in pot. Pour [8] into pot in several batches. Mix so that no lumps form each time.

10. Add red wine, and simmer on low heat until sticky. Pour sauce on tonkatsu.

Ready to eat!
